The Boy Within: A Journey Of Connection
Join Wild Hope Counselling for The Boy Within: A Journey of Connection
Within each of us is a small boy. He is a place of wounding but also a place of great Joy and freedom. He desires to be safe and to run free in nature. This weekend is designed to help us encounter our inner boy and ask him what it is he needs. This weekend will use some theory to explain how this happens but most of the weekend we will use ritual, expressive therapies, Nature and silence to encounter the hidden place within.
“In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play”
Friedrich Nietzsche
What past participants have said:
“The weekend really allowed me to connect with myself and begin to understand the journey with my inner child”
“I went into this event knowing you guys running it would be real, open and honest with us and you’d give your best for us, and I wasn’t disappointed!”
“I really appreciated that the leaders were on the journey too and participated in the sessions. I don’t know if this is just because it’s the first time this event was run but I really valued that.”
“Loved the weekend. The sense of belonging and community I experienced and felt was truly profound. The meals were nourishing and plenty of food.”

Your Facilitators
We have a team of about 6 men who will help facilitate your experience on these retreats. All of these men have done significant work in their own lives and can create a place of deep knowing and safety. The weekend is based in nature, which provides a great container for being with grief and will include:
- Group processes
- Solo time
- Silence
- Opportunity to create personal grief rituals
- Plenty of time and space to simply be
Nothing will be forced. We listen to what is needed and understand that grief isn’t something to be solved or ‘dealt with’. There is no agenda to achieve. Grief has its own way.
