Matt Lees - African Drumming Workshop

Matt Lees has been playing and facilitating African Drumming workshops for over 20 years and is the co-founder of Threeworlds "Fun for Life", a specialty world music and circus store. Threeworlds is all about giving people an experience in music, movement and meditation as a way of finding peace and happiness from within and sharing it into the community. Matt has travelled Australia facilitating workshops in meditation, fire dance, juggling, magic, kali stick fighting, didgeridoo and laughter yoga. His enthusiasm to uplift and inspire others is truly contagious.

In this totally hands-on, interactive and fun workshop you will learn drumming fundamentals and a powerful rhythm combined with games to keep it light and exciting. Group drumming demonstrates the power of playing together as a collective and what can be achieved working as one for a common goal. African Drumming is an effective way of releasing tension and letting go into the present moment. Hey Guys,

Do you have teenagers in the Family, and live in Brisbane?

Powerhouse Programs is excited to offer the Parent & Teenager Building Bridges Program Weekend Program for families with teenagers a weekend non-residential program to enhance relationship and communication skills for a Parent and a teenager!!

The Building Bridges program is a fun and meaningful experience that supports the changing nature of the parent-teenage relationship during the teenage years.

The course is for a parent (Mother or Father) and a teenager (aged 12-15 years) and is over a weekend (Friday night with parents only, Saturday & Sunday from 9 am – 3:30 pm).

Families from either the Sunshine or Gold Coast come and stay in Brisbane to make a special weekend to invest in the relationship.

This program is for ALL BOYS & GIRLS whether in a positive relationship with their parents or facing some of the challenges that often arise at this time.

• There are 8-12 pairs in each program.
• Young people are able to attend with either parent – we aim to have a mixture of Mothers and Fathers.
• For weekend courses the parent attends an adult-only session on Friday evening in order to connect with other parents and prepare for the weekend ahead.
• Each Building Bridges program is supported by a minimum of two trained facilitators.

Liam Walsh - Mind Body Revitalisation

Liam is an experienced remedial massage therapist, health coach, singer and breathwork facilitator. Liam’s guiding mantra in life is that we don’t serve the world by playing small. Liam empowers his clients to own their wellness journey and mindset.

The embodiment and revitalisation of true mind body connection is experienced when participating in one of Liam’s workshops.

Through the use of all five senses Liam brings forth deep feelings of mind body connection. Touch, sound, sight, smell and taste are used to powerfully unite mind and body. Tim Fisk has been volunteering with Powerhouse Programs (Rite of Passage camps for teenage boys and their fathers) for over 10 years and is now Director of the charitable foundation. Over the years Tim has experienced and co-facilitated many life-changing workshops, programs and accountability groups.
Choosing to walk the edge between Fight and Flight can be uncomfortable and yet hugely rewarding. In this workshop, we’ll explore areas where you are already walking the edge and areas where you could use this tool more effectively.

It can be hard to respond and not react when parts of me/us are conflicted and caught up in a Black & White world of All or Nothing, Fight or Flight, Better than or Less than, Being Right or People Pleasing. It’s hard to be the Benevolent and Wise King of our inner realm when I’m/we’re experiencing the fight or flight urges of the King archetype’s shadows of Tyrant or Weakling.

Choosing to walk the edge between Fight and Flight can be uncomfortable and yet hugely rewarding. In this workshop we’ll explore areas where you are already walking the edge and areas where you could use this tool more effectively.

We’ll start off with a better understanding of the edge model, then explore it in small groups and then do some all in Psychodrama processes to help you take home this knowledge and make it part of your everyday life

Nunumunganah has been conducting this style of workshop for 20 years now at many gatherings. All those years ago he began travelling solo through deserts, and other isolated places in Oz, connecting with First Nations people, Mother Earth, and all that is nature on Earth and the endless skies. These experiences have given me grounding, a knowing and being in tune with inner self.

Of course the beautiful life journey continues so that he might continue to learn and grow as one with all that is.
